“Love Jesus, Love People!” Of course, I love my family–my wife Kathe, and our daughters Mary-Lynn, Sarah, Anna and her husband Pete and their daughter, our grand daughter Anna Jean. Amazing people.
Now note I use the term “people” in the plural without any restrictions on race, creed, nationality or orientation. People need people. We all need each other. Remember the song, “People” by Barbara Streisand? We are the luckiest people in the world. We are lucky because God first loved us–loved us in Jesus Christ. I learned that at the Calvary Presbyterian Church, Riverton NJ. I am thankful that my parents and grandmother helped me to grow up with a strong faith. I loved sports and competing, trying out new ideas, standing up for those who were hurting, helping any and all that I could. After Gettysburg College, I went to Princeton Seminary and studied for the ministry. A very wise decision. Throughout my ministry, I have had the passion and grit to persevere during crisis and hardship. I have had the creativity and desire to start new churches such as Santa Fe Pres in Edmond OK and Cornerstone Pres in Jackson NJ. In all my churches, I am grateful for all the friendships and volunteers who have given and given–reaching out to others. Both these new churches won the Walton Award for being Outstanding New Churches in America. After retirement, I served two interim positions–Manasquan NJ during Super Storm Sandy and Hope Presbyterian in Winter Haven FL. Both of these experiences were gratifying. Now I continue to look for God’s direction–where next can I serve to make a positive difference for God’s world?! Amen, Hallelujah Amen.
